Z Mango Smoothie

About this recipe

Mangoes have been cultivated in India for more than 4,000 years and later spread throughout the tropics. This modern smoothie celebrates the fruit’s fragrant sweetness, blending ripe mango with plain Greek yogurt and whole milk for a creamy, golden drink.

WHY YOU’LL LOVE IT

Ripe mango delivers fragrant tropical flavor and natural sweetness without added sugar. Greek yogurt and whole milk create a rich, creamy texture with just three ingredients. Chilled or frozen mango makes a refreshing smoothie without ice diluting the flavor.

Ingredients

Makes 1 serving (1 large glass). Nutrition information is for the entire smoothie.

  • Ripe mango, peeled, pitted, and diced (150 g edible portion / about 1 cup), or the same weight of unsweetened frozen mango
  • ½ cup plain whole-milk Greek yogurt, unsweetened (120 g)
  • ½ cup whole milk (120 ml)
  • 1–2 tbsp cold water (15–30 ml), only if needed to thin

Preparation

  1. If using fresh mango, peel it, remove the pit, and weigh 150 g of flesh. Cut into small pieces, spread on a freezer-safe plate, and freeze for about 30 minutes to chill. If using frozen mango, measure 150 g and skip this step.
  2. Pour the milk into the blender. Add the Greek yogurt and chilled or frozen mango.
  3. Secure the lid and blend on high for 45–60 seconds, or until smooth and creamy. Stop and scrape down the sides if needed, then blend again.
  4. If the smoothie is too thick, add cold water, 1 tablespoon at a time, and blend briefly until it reaches your preferred consistency.
  5. Pour the entire smoothie into one large glass and serve immediately.

Tips

  • Choose a ripe mango that yields slightly to gentle pressure and smells fruity near the stem. Peel color alone does not indicate ripeness.
  • Weigh the mango after removing the peel and pit so the portion matches the nutrition estimate.
  • If frozen mango is too firm for your blender, let it soften for 5–10 minutes before blending.
  • Use plain, unsweetened Greek yogurt to let the mango’s flavor stand out.
  • The smoothie’s shade will range from pale yellow to golden orange depending on the mango variety and ripeness.
